Thinking ‘tanka’

Day 11 of NaPoWriMo is the day of the tanka poem (syllable structure 5-7-5-7-7) and, on a day a little less inspiring than most, my poem is below… with a nice picture to help it along.

ImageSighs and lullabies

enchanted mind at moonrise

Soulful swirl of thoughts,

Fly free from broken bondage

hearts jig-sawed, puzzle complete.

  1. “Sighs and lullabies” is my favorite line! Ahhh I’ve been there late at night rocking my babies back to sleep.

  2. Hi Natalie, many thanks for visiting! I think it’s quite a soothing, gentle line so I’m happy to hear that you like it. 🙂
